2008 General Election

democrats.org The 2008 General Election is scheduled for November 4th. Polls will be open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Find your voting district, locate your polling place and confirm your registration status by looking up your voter registration record , or locate your district by district maps on your respective town page or the official Warren County Board of Elections site. Once you know your voting district, look up your voting location at the list of polling sites available through your respective town page or the official Warren County Board of Elections site.

Registration
Voter registrations must be postmarked by by October 10th and received by the Board of Elections by October 15th, or delivered in-person to the Board of Elections by October 10th. The Board of Elections is located at 1340 State Rte 9. in the Warren County Municipal Center in Lake George. Those discharged from the military or naturalized as citizens after October 10th may register in person through October 24th. A Change of Address must be received by the Board of Elections by October 15th.

Absentee Ballots
Absentee Ballots may be requested by mail (requests must be postmarked by October 28), or may be requested in-person at the Board of Elections office through November 3rd. Ballots must be postmarked by November 3rd, or delivered in person to the Board of Elections office by November 4th.

Democratic Candidates
The Warren County Democratic Committee urges you to support the following Democratic Candidates:

Federal:
President and Vice President: Barack Obama and Joe Biden

Congress: Kirsten Gillibrand

State:
Supreme Court Justice: Robert J. Muller

Town of Johnsburg:
Town Board Member: Ronald G. Vanselow
(to fill unexpired term)

City of Glens Falls:
Mayor: John "Jack" Diamond
Voters will be selecting a new Glens Falls mayor in the November 4th election to fill the remaining term of LeRoy Akins, who passed away on August 10th. Former candidate Judy Villa-White has dropped out of the race and endorsed John "Jack" Diamond in the Glens Falls mayoral race. Jack, a registered Democrat and acting mayor, is running on Conservative and Independent lines.

Other Local, State, and Senate offices representing New York State are not up for election in 2008.
